spikes 22 5.5" upper having ALOT FTE FTF. HELP!

Good morning calgunners! I tried out my pistol upper this weekend, amd i used
    Remington hollowpoints30/50 fte 2 ftf

    Winchester m22 black 15/50 fte

Federal match grade 15/50 fte 1 ftf

I kept getting alot of stuck brass in the charging handle, i guess its a "stovepipe." and im really bummed. I bought alot of the m22 and now what do i do? Cci runs perfect, and i have 2 boxes but i would hate to have to exclusively run cci. Any suggestions? I am really nervous of cutting the coils and the ejector does grab the rim really well before firing.

Have you've tried plain old' federal bulk? Had a spikes 22 upper in 16" and for 1k of rounds ate only federal bulk. CCI Minimags nope, Federal Match, nothing would feed in those first outings. After 1k of federal bulk, rifle broke in, then I could start feeding it Wolf Match, various Aquila. Also check the magazines. My original BDM mags, the plastic feed lips started to split causing FTE/FTF etc. I switched to the metal feed lip version and no issues.

The bdm mags are new, plastic feedlips. This was the maiden voyage.

Get a brick of federal bulk and shoot through. Spikes tests on federal bulk. CCI has a waxy coating that sticks in the chamber causing issues. My upper was 95% reliable on federal bulk.

Try these suggestions if you can't federal bulk. Too bad you're not up north, would trade ya a box.

Spikes .22 bcg's are infamous for throwing empties into the charging handle.
                          One reason they were discontinued.
The CMMG anti jam charging handle was designed to help the Spikes "empties" problem.
I would also suggest getting TACCOM's pressure plug.
A bcg of any type that has any movement fore and aft can cause issues.
The pressure plug puts positive pressure against the rear of the BCG.

Im looking for both the charging handle and the plug. Cant find either. What exactly is the plug? Can i make one. Im a machinist. Does it thread into the buffer cap until it cant anymore with complete upper installed? If so I know i can make it. And it seems like i can just fill the charging handle with jb weld. Any idea about that? Thank you
