In order to be CA legal, the overall length of the firearm with the stock folded must be 26" or greater. If it is shorter than 26", then it will be considered a SBR (felony).

You know what I suggest you do then?

You then mod it and attach it somehow to the original wooden 10/22 cutdown stock, and then attach the pistol grip of your choosing. (personally, I like the AK grip, but the M16A2's pistol grip is cool too)

And even if you don't have a welder to put that rear trunnion together, you could just JB Weld the sucker together. The parts are a tight fit to begin with, and it's not like it's gonna come under any stress: this is a 22 after all

I used to have one of these for my old 10/22:

well i just got around to pulling out a AK underfolder stock and check it on a std 10-22 stock and it will work but the stock will need to be thinned to allow the side rails of the folder to close around the stock ....

AK stock between rails is about 1 5/8 wide opening
10/22 stock is 2 inches wide

to get stock length of pull the folder will need to be mounted about 2 3/8 from the back of the receiver this will also make it 26 OAL folded with a std 18 inch barrel

after mocking up the stock it kinda looks cool , thinking i might give it a go but got to find a beat up cheap birch stock all i own are all orig walnuts and not cutting them up ....lol

if you start doing it be sure to post some pics , and i will do the same if i can find a stock to hack up

and mrkubota those stocks are great always wanted one as copies of the orig mini 14 folders
