    Crickett 22 pistol

Crickett makes a 22 single shot pistol, has anyone tried using colibri primer only rounds in one?
OK my real question is - is there a bolt action or single shot that will handle colibri rounds well? (The colibri round doesn't have enough power to cycle a semi auto)
What do you like to shoot colibri rounds with?
Anyone try the Crickett Hunter Pistol bolt action single shot?

colibris only seem to get stuck in barrels longer than 20 inches

it seems that the optimal barrel for velocity is about 4-6 inches but they are still a tad loud

at 14" they quiet down like you put on a silencer

at 20 inches they make a red ryder bbgun seem loud

They shoot great in a Colt/Umarex 22lr. You have to manually cycle, but with a 16" barrel the report sounds like a clap of your hands.

My chronograph clocks em at 600 fps.

They work great in my North American Arms 3" Earl.

Bohoki - you're pickin up what I'm puttin down. got a recommendation for a CA legal gun?
Capitol - I'm already shooting them in my Neos, where I can cycle/hand load each round, but I'm looking for something not semi-auto. Something easier to load the next round. You also lose a little of the power to the auto loading mechanism, even if they don't cycle. Thank you for the suggestion though.
22 short barrel, bolt action hand action of some sort.

I have one of these Chipmunk Hunter pistols. Dont ever remember using a colibri in it. But colibri's in a rifle aren't very loud similar to an air gun. My guess it would be slightly louder than one. Colibri only work well in bolt or single shots. I have used them in a Ruger MK3 pistol and manually operated the bolt. They didn't sound all that loud coming from a 6" barrel.

The Super Colibri fired from the Chipmunk pistol is somewhat louder than an airgun. The pop is about the same as a cap gun.

thread seemed to drift to Colibri being quiet, yes, I know that. I'm asking what pistol would y'all recomend for it. Want a longer barrel, NOT a 4". Bolt action or lever, something NOT auto. What do you think about the Crickett? The chipmunk looks interesting. Any other possibilities?

The Chipmunk Hunter pistol and the Crickett Hunter Pistol are the same gun made by Keystone Sporting arms.
If you want to spend a whole lot of money, you might consider a Thompson Contender. I've been told that at some point in time they made one in .22LR. The Rossi matched pair is also available in .22LR. I seem to recall a single shot break action once that was made by CZ. I don't know the model.

As far as a lever action pistol... I've heard rumors that Henry is making a .22LR mares leg. I dunno.

Today, the Chipmunk/Crickett is the only bolt action pistol I know of being manufactured, the rest are break action.

They work great in my contender 10" and 14" bbls.

I shoot the Colibris (and Super Colibris) in my revolvers all the time. The regular Colibris are very quiet. The Super Colibris are a bit louder, but nowhere near whar a normal .22 would be. Try a revolver!
