    HK MP5 SD / A5 (vs. gsg?)

I'm in the market for an MP5 clone. Ideally, I'd get it in 9mm, but they seem to be rather expensive and at this point, probably expensive to find unless you want to pay even more $$ than before!

First question is GSG vs. HK? I'm leaning towards HK even though there's a pretty big price delta. Is there any reason I should consider a GSG?

Since I'm leaning towards the HK, they have two models, the SD and A5. I found the A5 in stock at my local Big5. However, I actually like the look of the SD more. Anyone know who might have the SD in stock in the Bay Area?

Also, what kind of prices are you guys seeing for the HK and GSGs?

    I own a 1st gen GSG-5 and have handled/used the H&K/Umarex MP5.
I got the ATI/GSG GSG-5 when it first came out and was the only MP5 style .22LR rifle on the market.

    IMO...
The H&K/Umarex is the better of the two.

They both have similar accuracy and reliability, but the H&K/Umarex is better constructed and disassembles easier for cleaning.

Umarex is the better one between the two.

few hundred dollars difference does make a difference.

I looked at the GSG MP5 and it felt like a toy. Then I checked out the HK/Walther MP5 and it felt like the HK MP5 9mm full auto I had just fired in Vegas at the Gun Store.

So I bought the HK. (Big 5, $479) Probably put 200 rds or so through it and I love it. My wife loves it, my buddy and his wife love it (he's looking for one now, too) It's a lot of fun and super cheap to shoot. Very accurate.
