Found some .22LR bulk in IE

Made the rounds from Lake Elsinore to Temecula this morning hunting for bulk .22LR. WalMarts in Lake Elsinore and Murrieta had nothing. The rumor is the get ammo in on Thursdays. I have watched them stock it on a Thursday, but the sport goods gods with the ammo display case keys deny this. They insist it comes in randomly.

Faith Armory had a little CCI (gone now) and some Blazer .22lr (someone else grabbed it) but they do have a good supply of the Bucket O' Bullets - Remington Golden Bullets - 1400 rounds for $74.99. With tax it's a little over 5 cents a round, but I picked one up since I was there.

The whole shop had a gun show feel to it while I was in there. Crowded, hard to move around and lots of chatter. Once I had my items in had I really enjoyed walking around slowly and just listening. Very interesting conversations between customers and staff. The vibe was "the ban" was coming any minute now.

I finished up in Temecula at the local WalMart. They had Federal Target 325 packs for $13.47. That's under 5 cents a round. I left several boxes behind.

The .22LR is out there if you don't mind looking around.

Faith also had .223 and 5.56 - just notify your bank before going.

Hah! I wish they would just fess up and say when the shipments come in, but I guess it's a good idea so they can keep hoarders away.

Thanks for the report! Gas isn't cheap and its nice to know that I'm not the only one looking for .22lr.

I check the Mo Val this afternoon and all they had was .22 shorts or mag. I have been looking for the .22 lr Federal 550ct for $20. Turners had 500ct in Corona for $20 a few weeks ago.
The CCI blazer is cheap too if you can find it at the shows. I'll prob buy 1000-3000rd next weekend

Forgive me for threadjacking, but I just picked up my first 22lr, a M&P 15-22. I figure I'll shoot 22lr until this whole panic buying ammo shortage blows over.

Does anyone recommend a specific type of ammo for my rifle and about how much per round I should be paying? I figure the inflation had to have struck the 22lr market as well, so I just want to make sure I'm getting ammo at a semi-decent price.

I like the federal premium HP 36grain. They are about $20 for 500-550ct at Turners or walmart.

ammo bros in cerritos has federal, and winchester in 525 or 550 round bulk.

im not sure about the winchester, but the federal was 21.99/box of 525 or 189.99 for a case of 10 boxes

            theyre 5 boxes lighter.

they had tons of winchester, on a pallet, but i didnt notice it til after i bought the federal

The Temecula WalMart had a good amount of the Remington Golden Bullet 225 packs this afternoon. I also saw 7.62x39 Tula and some brass. And 9mm is coming back in stock. Saw it in Temecula and Lake Elsinore today.

Oh yeah - Lake Elsinore WalMart also had two plastic ammo cans of CCI at the closeout 98 dollar price.

Murrieta walmart has some federal 550 boxes as of this morning. 2 boxes should be left.

Me and another guy cleaned out the Walmart off McKinley in Corona this morning of their Federal Automatch 325 boxes for $13.xx/box. They did still have a few boxes of the Tactical AR 22lr for $23.97/box. Turners in Corona still had no 22lr whatsoever.
