    making the ruger takedown smaller

i bought the ruger 10/22 takedown because i swore it would fit in my saddlebags on my bike, but it just doesnt fit.

i know i can have the barrel shortened, and plan to knock about 1 1/2 inches off

for the stock, i know i can mod any regular 10/22 stock to fit, but here is my question......

Is there a collapsable (sliding, not a folding) that does not have a pistol grip.

i am not against a pistol grip, in fact i kind of like them, just dont want to make it too "tall" i would like it to stay about the same height (packed) so as not to take up too much room in the saddle case.

    any ideas?

From google it seems that it has a 18.5 inch barrel. Legal limit is 16 so yes you could cut off 1.5 inches.

Where are you located? If socal member ar15barrels might be able to help you chop it down and recrown it.

Can't think of any collapsible stocks that do not have a pistol grip.

Keep in mind legal over all limit OAL is 26" federally and CA. Remember CA measures this from the shortest fire-able configuration

yeah, ive googled the hell out of this, and if i want a collapsable stock, its gotta have a pistol grip.

it looks like the minimum length of pull of the tapco intrafuse is 10.75" which is 2.25 inches less than the stock takedown stock. will definitely fit in the saddlebag.

If you have the barrel cut down, keep it a little over 16 inches just to avoid future hassles.
