Best CCI for small game?

Got a 22LR 16", looking for effective ammo for small game, but not to blow them up in to pieces, need to save the fur to make a nice coat for the wife

CCI Mini-Mag HP 36gr or 40gr HP would be better?

I would go for the Velocitors. A lot will vote for the Stingers, but the Velocitors will retain more energy @ 40 gr and 1450 fps it will stop small game dead in it's tracks.

Can you be a little more specific in small game. I first look for the round that gives me a humane kill then work from there.

Any 22LR will be deadly on small game. I just use Federal Bulk 36gr HP, kills them just as dead.

CCI makes a round called Small Game Bullets (SGB) specifically for this. I don't hunt, but I've heard they're excellent for this sort of thing. Look into those.

CB's. Even if you miss, they won't know you shot at em.

depending on where you are hunting, you mite be in the condor range which would require you to shoot lead free ammo. not a lot of choices in 22lr if that is where you are.

Cci minimag HP can be pretty devastating to fur. Shot placement is key

For small game mammals such as rabbits and tree squirrels lead ammo is ok. Lead-free rimfire is only for nongame mammals.

they work very well in my savage. Most folks agree to hit and humanely put the game down is the most important thing. Use what ever is the most accurate round for your rifle. Subsonic or not.

The segmenteds cost a bit more, and are hard to find, but BOY do they put the hurt on stuff you shoot with them! I picked up a box of Winchester segmenting HP's the other day too but have yet to try them out. I need to test accuracy, see how they run, and then shoot a few jackrabbits or tree squirrels with 'em!
