Ruger 10/22 Iron Sight Dilemma

Greeting Gents

I just bough my first .22, the 10/22 Take Down.

I like to set up my rifle with a scope but if necessary, be able to remove the scope quickly and go to iron sights. However, I noticed that when you screw the weaver rail onto it, it blocks the iron sights. So I'm wondering, are their any aftermarket "Raised" iron sights for the 10/22 that will clear the weaver rail? Or are there any custom weaver rails where the center portion is cut down far enough to see the iron sight but still have enough metal for the screws to hold it down?

I know there are see through scope rings for the 10/22 but I don't want to go that route. It's hard enough to get a scope to zero in at short range and raising it will just make it harder.

Any help would be appreciated.

I do use the see through rings, I use the iron sights for close range and switch to scope for farther out. I think it works pretty well.

But do you have issues zeroing your scope in at close range (30~50 yards)?

I zeroed the scope at fifty, and raise my aim point accordingly with distance from there.
I've not checked to see the POI for the scope at 25 yards.
Closer then fifty I'm using the iron sights.

The Nodak Spud NDS-26 is a picatinny style rail with built in rear sight, then you just have to mount up an appropriately tall front sight. I don't remember off the top of my head how the takedown 10/22 is sighted, but if it is the same as the normal 10/22, they sell a matching front sight.

This is the best option. Another workaround is to use the Tech Sights. Get their standard front sight and the marlin rear sight which will work on the rail Ruger gives you. You'll have to call them as this combo is not on their website. I love my tech sights. Nodak and Tech-Sights are the two main vendors of this solution, surprisingly there are no better options.

The FireSights (more expensive of the two they offer) Ruger installed when they had to replace the stock on my 10/22TD sit JUST barely proud of the Ruger rail and are usable when scope is removed. A set of see-thru weaver mounts would block them though.

The Leupold Rifleman rail is cut out down the middle to allow use of iron sights and I might get one when they come off backorder at Midway.

On my 10/22 I am using the Weaver see-thru 10/22 mounts from Wally World ($11ish) along with Ruger FireSights (the cheaper set) and the combo works VERY well for quick transitions.
