    Which 10/22 drop[in replacemet trigger?

I have a 10/22 deluxe (checkered walnut stock). I want to upgrade the trigger ***'y. Host of options from $100 to $300. Timney Volquartsen, Kidd, Hornet and probably more. Cost isn't a deal killer, but i want value included in the equation. Can I really get close with $100 Hornet, or is "cry once"a better way to go? How would you compare the various $200+ triggers?

All informal shooting from targets to game and mostly bulk ammo Rifke is otherwise stock with Leup 2x-7x.

Kidd is by far the best trigger I've felt on any gun outside of an air rifle. Air guns are really hard to beat for a trigger, but again the best one I've felt was a 10/22 Kidd trigger. It was down to something like 6oz and was amazing.

      KIDD.

With that budget, single stage or 2 stage, depends on your liking. Value added since they hold their value well...more of an investment as you can recoup your $$ *if* you decide its not for you. Won't happen, however, once you try one.

I'm looking in the 2-3 # range for "general purpose". Nothing uber light or 2-stage.

        Anyone used the Timney?

Hornet triggers are pretty much Ruger parts with a trigger job done. You're just paying for the trigger job.

That said, I haven't had an issue with mine. It'll be less than $100 if you send them your stock one. I think it was $30 off?

I have the single stage @ 1.5#, but it is easily user adjustable to 5#. Breaks real sharp and clean! No pre-travel/over-travel and reset is very short. See if someone will let you try theirs!

If you don't mind sending yours out, Brimstone does superb work at a great price!

            G/L!

I went with the Kidds.........but not at this price. Great trigger group for the Ruger. You can pick what weight trigger you want, the color and the mag release. I went with the extended.

I also have a KIDD, they'll do whatever weight you want.
Never follow the advice of Calguns Addicts,
They clearly don't know what they are talking about.

I have a 10/22 with a Timney. I like it. Like most Timney's it is not super light, but it is crisp and breaks clean.

Oh, and I love the extended mag release.

I put a Kidd trigger group in one 10/22, and love it. I had them set it at 3# for general use, and it's a huge improvement on the factory trigger. For serious target work, it's easy to set it lower.

I also sent the trigger group from another 10/22 to Brimstone for their top of the line trigger job. It's also way better than the factory trigger, half the price of the Kidd, but the Kidd has noticably "crisper" trigger break.

The Brimstone is a good deal, and a big improvement over stock, but if I have another 10/22 to go through, I will go ahead and spend the money on another Kidd. I guess it depends on how much you want to spend on a $200 .22. Between the trigger, sights, guide rod and recoil buffer, I've spent more on upgrades than the original price of the rifle. But it sure shoots sweet!

Nothing I have is stock. All that matters is we like what we have! That said, I have most of the upgrades on my 10/22. I didnt wanna spend over 100$ (right now) Volquartsen Hammer & Sear 62$ Shipped, will be here before I`m awake, looking forward to it!

A significant Improvement will make me happy, pretty sure this will do.
Yes I took the pic, no I didn't go swimming!

I recently installed the Volquartsen trigger group into my older carbine. It was $190 from Midway but also includes the extended mag release and bolt release mod. I did recoup some of the cost when I sold my stock metal group.

I haven't had a chance to compare it against other brands but I am pretty happy with the feel.

I'm happy with it and it contains other items that I would replace too.
