Cmmg .22lr conversion kit*

Hello need some help please..... I just got my Cmmg .22lr conversion kit and I Have a M&p 15 sport and all I get is one to two shots off then FTE or doesn't eject not cycling For the next round. I used cci mini mags and winchester x .22lr ammo. Im using the stock Magazines it came with.....

any help will do thanks....

Did you get a stainless one or phosphate finish? Mine had issues "phosphate" till it was well broken in. It had to wear down the finish to steel for it to be smooth. It took using a bunch of oil and just cycling the action a lot. The phosphate on phosphate acts like sand paper and slows the action way down causing issues.

If it's stainless lube the hell out of it.

I have the stainless model...... I lube it before I went out I'll put more Lube on it again hoping theres a break in period....thanks

Take out the kit and cycle it by hand. This should tell you where it is dragging, and will show by wear marks. You can hand cycle it with extra lube while watching tv or such till it smooths out.

I will second the cycling it part. These need to be well worn in to work properly. Lube and hand cycle it until it smooths out and you should be GTG.

Also these kits usually prefer high velocity ammo like CCI MiniMags, CCI Blazer, etc. Shoot a few boxes of these through it initially to get it worn in. It it is still sticky then get 1000 grip fine sandpaper and polish the phosphate where the rails and bolt rub together.

The stainless doesn't need much break in.
I only use 1 drop of oil per rail.
Make sure the bolt isn't binding any where. It should cycle like warm butter.
I assume you are using the Evolution 10 round mags. Make sure they are fitting properly.

Notched hammers are a problem.
The bolt can also drag on the bolt catch. If it is, file the bc down slightly.

Make sure the bolt is closing all the way and you do not have the BCG moving back and forth. Slop there on recoil will cause all sorts of issues.
Thats why I recommend the TACCOM reliability kit.
Longer, hardened firing pin. Pressure plug that keeps pressure against the rear of the BCG, and the extreme extractor to provide positive extraction.

Before use I used a nice coat of Remington dry lube in all if the cracks and grooves. Made sure it cycled by hand nice and smooth.
It shot great no failures at all. Very satisfied.

I bought one of those used and it functioned flawlessly. Sold it to another CGN'r and never heard anything negative back

I have the stainless Bolt now but we first had the Parked one, Had a few early problems but started to use RemDriLube on it. Worked perfectly then with any ammo. We did upgrade to the stainless as it is so much nicer.

One guy stated that they prefer High Velocity ammo. Our two we own will of course shoot any high velocity Ammo, but the ammo we like is best is just Standard Velocity 1050 FPS CCI. It is very accurrate and quiet too. Both ours run flawlessley with any ammo. Have not tried Remington Ammo however

I run my stainless cmmg kit dry with the winchester white box stuff and never have had a problem from the start. the round count is well over a thousand and never had a to use high velocity for a brake in.the mag that came with the kit and a half dozen from Black Dog Machine all work perfect. My upper is L.M.T. good luck, I would send the kit back.
