    10/22 TakeDown, accuracy and repeatability test

    The question has come up: “ How accurate and repeatable is Ruger 10/22 TakeDown Model?” Since I have one, time to run a test.

    THE EQUIPMENT:
    Ruger 10/22 Take down about 6months old with ~ 2000 rounds fired. Modifications: Volq hammer, Boyd Tacicool stock modified
    for use with TakeDown model. Bipod in front, bean bag on the rear. Ammo used for the test Blazer bulk.
    Scope was a Nikon Rimfire, 3-9x 40mm. Range was 75Yards.

    THE ENVIRONMENT:
    Tests were conducted on two consecutive weekends at Lake Chabot range. Temp was about the same for both weekends, high 60s, sunshine, very slight breeze Left to right.

    THE METHOD.

    First weekend was used to sight in new scope at 75 yards. Scope was zeroed and the rest of the day was spent having fun punchin’ holes in paper.
    The rifle was take apart and brought home of a quick cleaning. During cleaning, action was not removed from stock. Ran Hopps thought the bore,
    Wiped out the action.
    Both tests were from a bench position with bipod on front and bean bag in rear.

    Second weekend same set up as the first with same ammo, no adjustments to the scope. After about 50 round warm up (me and the gun) went for the “Money Shot”
    Picture below are the results of second weekend. Unfortunately , do not have pics of first weekend, but looks about the same, maybe a little more centered.

    Hmm, I am have problems uploading the pic. You can see it here;

    How about repeating this test a couple of more times and posting the results? Now that would be interesting---nice shooting by the way.
