    Savage 93 scope mounts?

I just ordered a Savage 93R17BV from Buds Gun Shop and I want to know if the scope mounts from the factory are worth anything, or if it's better to pick up an after market mount. Any recommended mounts?

I use this on both my MKII and 93r17: http://www.diproductsinc.com/Detail....64825&CAT=3602

Much better than the stock mounts, more solid and provide a little more flexibility when mounting the scope. I also use Burris Signature Zee Rings.

Izzy, if you don't mind me asking, what type of scope and what height rings are you using with that mount?

The 17 deserves a high power scope. Ours sports a Nitrex TR1 6-20 and using the DIP rail we get away with med. Sig Z rings.

I am using a Vortex 8-32x50MM AO with Accushot (Leapers) medium 30mm rings. Give me about 1/8" clearance to the barrel.

Thanks for the info fellas. I have a Bushnell Banner 4-12x40 that I'm putting on it. Figured I wouldn't need any taller than a medium ring.

EGW also makes a nice rail. I think it costs a little more than the DIP one though.
