thanks for everybody input, but I like the whole grab and go, plus I have 2 boy 12 and 4.... the complete .22 will be perfect for them to shoot as I will not have to tie up my own AR......... SO what company do you guys like?? I'm not looking for something cheap.... but something I can shoot thousands of rounds through and past down....

If you want a ready to go .22LR AR, go with the M&P 15-22. It looks and functions like a real AR and accepts most standard AR parts. The others might look like one, but don't function like one and I don't believe they have the same parts compatibility either.

S&W M&P 15-22 has the same manual of arms as an AR and breaks down identically for cleaning (2 pins, separate the upper and lower, and pull the BCG).

It also accepts AR triggers, pistol grips, and has a mil-spec sized buffer tube.

Its as close as you can get to an AR without buying an AR.

The Second Amendment is a doomsday provision, one designed for those exceptionally rare circumstances where all other rights have failed - where the government refuses to stand for reelection and silences those who protest; where courts have lost the courage to oppose, or can find no one to enforce their decrees. However improbable these contingencies may seem today, facing them unprepared is a mistake a free people get to make only once.

Buy the dedicated upper and assemble a real AR lower for it later on if you wish. You can put together a Lower very cheaply if you shop around and possibly scrounge used parts. The first CMMG dedicated complete rifle we put together cost us a total of 505.00 dollars, that was with the Parkerized bolt so would have been a little more to get the stainless at first and that was a mistake not to. Live and learn I guess. Hardly much more to have the CMMG than the price of the SW. worth every bit of the extra to have the CMMG.

We used a complete dedicated upper from CMMG,though we purchased it from a retailer,it was cheaper that way. The lower was assembled using a real AR15 Aero Precision lower and some used parts. The SW is a plastic Firearm, may not bother some but I guarentee my CMMGs will be around for generations to come, highly doubt the SW will have that sort of longevity. I considered the MP22 very seriously before someone told me about the CMMG uppers that use standard AR parts and are made of aluminum. It was a no brainer from there on. Plastic Proprietary rifle from SW that just looks like an AR15 or a "real" AR15 with a CMMG upper that just happens to shoot .22 rimfire? You can swap the barrel and change the bolt on a CMMG and it will shoot 5.56. Try that with a MP22. Cannot be done. In other words they are nothing like a real AR15 other than looks. Your decision, but spend the money to do it right in the first place in my opinion if financially possible. If a little more money spent is a problem than you will have to settle for less..
