Cleaning rod for SR22 pistol?

Does anyone have a suggestion for a cleaning rod that will actually fit down the barrel of the SR22? I have been using the Otis small caliber kit, but I'd much prefer to use an actual rod to scrub the nasty out.

Also, has anyone else with an SR22 noticed that the business end of the barrel is a bit smaller in diameter than the feed end? My other .22s are not like this, so I'm wondering if I perhaps got a lemon.

I use the first section of a shooters choice coated rod.

I just cleaned my about an hour ago. I bought a small cleaning kit at Walmart and I like it.

It is a red metal cylinder shaped like a crayon. Has several tips and rods to extend it. They attach to the metal cylinder which works as a handle.

Works well and better than the starter kit I bought at turners.

I usually remove the allen screw that holds the barrel in the receiver and run a brush or bore snake to clean it real good. Also when its removed you can polish up the feed ramp too.

I just boresnake mine. 1500+ rounds in less than a month. Clean it after every trip. Never had a single problem with it. Great gun.

Thanks for the tips everybody. It's looking like the boresnake is a popular option, so I'm going to give that a try. The coated rod and Wal-Mart "crayon" rod also sound interesting, though, so I'll probably buy basically everything in my quest to minimize cleaning time.

All the cleaning rods in all my winchester brand cleaning kits work perfectly down the bores of my .22s including my SR22. Do have an Outer's cleaning rod that won't fit down a .22 bore, well, did, I threw it out to simplify things. I would just do the bore snake, but since I shoot lead through my 22s I like to make sure I get all the lead out of the bore, and I have never been able to do that with a bore snake.
