Silent .22 LR that cycle semi auto

You can't have a quiet round that will cycle a .22. I've tried them all, Colibri, Super Colibri, .22 CB, .22 Short, .22 Subsonic Sniper...if it is quiet, it won't cycle. If it will cycle, it ain't quiet. This rule applies to rifles and handguns equally.
The quietest is a .22 CB out of a long barreled .22 bolt action.
Same experience here. Tried them all, none cycle the action. My solution is a Ruger Single Six and Colibri. The sound of the bullet hitting the target is louder than the round going off.Comment

My CMMG AR22 with a Aftermarket 17 inch Taccom barrel is very very quiet with CCI Standard Velocity. I shoot the CB Longs in my old Remington Model 12 Pump as it of course does not need to cycle the bolt. You could almost run to the target faster than the bullet, but loudest thing you hear in the Old Remi is the bullet hitting the Plywood.Comment

I've got an older JC Higgens semi auto tube fed that I use Aguila 20 grain Super Colibri in. You have to hand cycle the action, but is whisper quiet.Originally Posted by Sic Boy

I shoot the aguilla Sniper Sub Sonics out of one of my 10/22's set up specifically for squirrels out at the parents ranch. I use a a TacSol standard twist barrel, and it is mighty quiet. The standard twist is only good for under 100yards however, but those little 60 grain .22 smack pretty hard, and at sea level there is no crack, just a pop... sometimes I don't even use ears, cause I will see one real quick, hop off my horse and take the shot. It cycles 85% of the time.Comment

Yes, Calibres and Super Calibres are exceptionally quiet out of the right guns. My Super14 Contender and Super Calibres makes for a fun day plinking. All I can hear is the hammer drop and the little projo hit the target. There have been a few different little .22 rimfire cartidges made in the past to accomodate parlor guns. Somewhere, I have a couple thousand rounds of some German .22 something (BB caps or smaller) that I picked up at a gun show a few years ago.NRA Certified Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor
