    Barrel End Gouging

Can someone advise me how to take out a few not so deep but annoying gouging from the crown of my 22/45???

The gouging/scratches are near the edges of the crown and does not reach to barrel hole. It is more of an aesthetic issue rather than functional.

Will Ruger Inc polish it out?? I know I have to call Ruger but would like some opinions before I do and pick up the gun on a 10 day waiting period.

Before you pick it up from its 10 day wait?
    Is it new or used?

What you are talking about having done is generally called "recrowning"

I do not know if Ruger will do it.. probably not if its user damage, if its factory maybe.

Probably need to find a good gunsmith

It is new but it was the last of the two available at the LGS, and both have those gouging. It is a discontinued model, the 22/45 with stainless bull barrel.

Alright, Bigtwin, as soon as I have it, which will be around 10/20th, I will.
