    Mk3 gritty creep on trigger

So I have replaced a bunch of parts in the gun to get it working righ without jamming up. I installed the VQ sear and now the sear/hammer has a creep that feels gritty. VQ sent me another sear and its exactly the same.

Is there a way to fix the hammer engagement area?

If you look face of the VQ sear under a loupe, you will see that the working edge of the sear is rounded off, which creates creep, and the same can be said for the VQ hammer. In short, without a traditional trigger job where the faces are flattened and the edges sharpened, the creep is virtually impossible to get rid of, which is why I've been considering a Marvel sear fixture (as I noted on RFC).

The short answer is, you can get rid of the grit, but cannot eliminate the creep without a trigger job. In the meantime, I've found that the VQ sear and Ruger hammer are a good combination.

As far as grit, most of it is associated with burrs in the frame where the disconnector rides against the frame. The frame needs to be deburred and polished, and the working edges on the disconnector need to be broken, stoned and polished, especially the rounded square in the disconnector that connects to the hammer bushing. On the opposite end, the small arm of the disconnector that contacts the plunger in the trigger needs to be stoned and polished. You can polish the plunger itself, in addition to the channel in the trigger that the plunger rides in.

Pull the internals out, and look for witness marks.

It's a hit and miss! I installed Voltquartsen accurizing kits on 2 MK III Hunter, mine and a friends (exact same model), mine have a crisp trigger, it breaks like a glass but my friends trigger had a creep, but both are smooth not gritty at all.
