10/22 modification. Question

I have been turning my 10/22 into a tacticool plinker to save me from wasting .223 ammo at the 25 yard indoor range while the temperatures are still pretty high out here in AZ. I got a deal on a lightly used Tapco stock and dropped the rifle into the stock earlier today. Planning on picking up an AFG2 to throw on the bottom rail. Are there any options for replacing the pistol grip Tapco provides with the stock and is the buttstock supposed to be mil-spec or comm-spec size? Want to throw an MOE stock on it.

Rifle is almost done, extended mag release is on its way, probably going to swap on my el cheapo red dot for a Primary Arms micro dot, and I am planning on getting an extended charging handle. Excited about taking the rifle to the range tomorrow, planning on burning through a box of Winchester 555 between that and my SR22.

A commercial buffer tube is larger than a mil-spec tube, so worst case scenario, if you got a commercial stock and had a milspec tube, it would fit, but wouldn't be quite as tight.

My gut tells me that a tapco stock/tube isn't milspec however.

Alright. Well I will just bust out the digital caliper and look up what the dimension for each tube is.

Edit: Looked it up and measured, 1.148 inches on my digital caliper,pretty much dead on for mil-spec buffer size.

Now I just need to find out if there are any options for replacing the grip that Tapco includes with the stock.

i shoot more of my .22's than my .223. its just hours of fun.

i usually just go through 40 rounds of .223 then im done. then about 500-1000 rounds of .22 for the rest of the day
