    Sig mosquito disappointment

Cliffnote version: Lost trigger bar spring for Mosquito, unable to get replacement from Sig or Numrich, hate the fact that I need to send the whole gun in to replace what I can obviously see is missing.

Long version: Well, I knew it would happen sooner or later but I misplace a part for my Mosquito while trying to reassemble it after a thorough cleaning and paint job. I was in the process of installing the trigger bar and spring back into the frame when I heard something go 'tink' and looked down to see that the trigger bar spring had disappeared. After searching on my hands and knees in my garage for over an hour I've given up trying to find it.
So, I called Sig Sauer this morning to order a part and was informed by Andy that Sig does not manufacture the Mosquito and only imports it and that I should call Numrich for parts. I checked the Numrich site and see that they have absolutely no parts listed in stock for the Mosquito so I tried calling but their maze of prompts sucks and I was never able to get a live voice on the line to ask.
Needless to say, I'm disappointed in Sig for not stocking replacement parts for a product that carries their name on it. I'm disappointed that their customer service would refer to a third party vendor for replacement parts. I'm disappointed that I'm going to need to send the gun in to Sig to replace a part that I lost and requires no special skills or tools to replace. I'm disappointed in myself for not being more careful.
Other than that, I love the gun! I've got close to 2000 rounds through it and have worked through all of the FTE and FTF issues. It is still picky on the ammo it uses (mini-mags and golden bullets) but they are easy to get and inexpensive compared to my other guns needs.
Anyway, since Sig does not manufacture the Mosquito, does anybody know who the original manufacturer is, GSG? Anybody know if there is a compatible trigger bar spring from another manufacturer? Anybody have a lead on vendors who carry Mosquito parts?

    Thanks for listening,

    Cliff

This is not the first time I've heard this about that pistol. Sorry for your troubles...

This happened to me (not this pistol), I lost a very small screw and looked forever for the $^&@* thing. Great idea from my wife, I got one of those magnet things on a rod and just slowly swept the area where I lost it and in about 5 minutes I had it. You might try that as our eyes can deceive us sometimes. Just an idea, hope you find it.

          Found it!

I recruited the wife and kid, employed the magnets, moved all of the vehicles out, and rearranged the machinery and managed to suck the little thing up into the shop vac.

I'm kinda glad that Sig Sauer encouraged me to keep looking, after telling me that they don't stock replacement parts, and that Numrich didn't answer the phone now. Not only is my gun back together but my garage floor is just a little bit cleaner.
Next time I attempt to disassemble or reassemble this thing I'm doing it in a plastic bag.
