Put a GSG 1911-22 in jail today!

While I love shooting my RIA 1911 tactical , the 45 ammo can get pricey quick.
While at turners today I was checking out the gsg and it felt and looked pretty close to the real thing. So I decided to pull the trigger on one. Can't wait to get this thing in 10 days!
Hoping its as fun and will eat fed bulk like my SR22.

Congrats indeed! I shot one of those recently. Pretty dang fun, and as all .22s are, cheap to shoot!

My GSG wants hotter ammo to cycle properly. It works fine with CCI Minimag and will work with Federal Automatch, but I can certainly feel the difference in cycling. The bulk Federal Champion will produce problems with mine. There isn't that much difference in muzzle energy between the Champion and Automatch, but it is enough difference to bring out the cuss words. It may be that a bunch more ammo going down the pipe will loosen up the recoil spring.

The GSG is probably the best of the cheap 1911 .22 caliber clones, but it still is a cheap pistol. I've toyed with getting a RIA, tossing the upper and putting a Marvel on it. That's big bucks for a 1911 in .22, but the feel and the quality of components will be much better than the GSG.

I plan to do the 1st 500 rounds with CCI Mini-mags then switch to the Federal Champion blue box 525 packs to break it in. I have 2 cases(10500 rds) of this stuff and runs perfect in my other 22's . Which are a Ruger SR22 and 10/22 Takedown , and a Marlin 795. I plan to get the M&P 22 also when it comes out. Gonna preorder it when I pick up the GSG, saw the sign at turners for the preorders .
Any other issues I should know about with this gun?

I have one too. It runs Blazer lead, Federal bulk in the blue box, and mini-mags no problem.

It will occasionally have issues going fully into battery when my 10yo limp wrists it.

My GSG loves Blazer, or anything CCI for that matter. Federal, not so good.

Just swapped out the firing pin the other day. ATI's customer service is pretty good.

It doesn't matter to us, just make sure upon installation you are legally able to posses the follower and upgraded magazine in your area. We don't INSTALL the followers if ordered with magazines. We leave the magazine factory, and include the additional follower.
