I'm having an issue w/ setting the elevation on a newly installed set of Tech Sights on my Marlin 925R. Perhaps it's just error in how I'm using them, but I've cranked the elevation down to the lowest it will go and it's still shooting too high (between 3-5 inches above target at 25 yards). Anyone experience a similar problem or have any ideas as to what the cause might be? Thanks!

The front sight is adjustable, correct?I'm having an issue w/ setting the elevation on a newly installed set of Tech Sights on my Marlin 925R. You say you "cranked" the elevation down, does that mean you've adjusted both the front and rear as far they'll go?
Oh, and why the cross posts in seperate forums?Stand up and be counted, or lay down and be mounted... -Mac

If he got the right tech sights for the 925, their web page say's they come with both front and rear (http://www.tech-sights.com/mxt200.htm).
Maybe he only has the rear, or didn't install the new front???Last edited by readysetgo; 09-22-2012, 3:41 PM.Stand up and be counted, or lay down and be mounted... -Mac

Are you sure the front can't be adjusted? What I mean is, there isn't an adjustment knob, however see the pic below, the view of the front face of the front sight (on the right) shows the set screw that pins the sight post in. Can you loosen that, raise the post, then re-tighten?

BTW, I don't have tech sights, I'm just going off of the drawings etc.Stand up and be counted, or lay down and be mounted... -Mac

Yeah, I think the front post is adjustable for elevation. Try that then come back and let us know.
See this thread:http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=549306
from AS Rocketman:
When making adjustments, the rear sight moves in the direction you want holes on paper to move. The front sight moves in the opposite direction.
Plan to "set and forget" the front sight, and make all minor corrections with the rear sight. This holds for any distance.Stand up and be counted, or lay down and be mounted... -Mac

You know what, you're right; just checked and you're correct. New to guns. Just figured that post should have been pushed down all of the way before screwing it on. Thanks! Can't wait to get back out there and try it out again. Are you sure the front can't be adjusted? Sweet! So remember, move your rear sight back to the middle, then adjust front first when you sight in, then lock it down tight. From there you should make future adjustments using the rear.
