Help with a Rem. nylon 66

Hey all,
Just was gifted a Nylon 66 and my son and I are going to do our best to restore it. I found the missing bolt Handle through brownells but the receiver cover is in pretty rough shape. I haven't been able to find one so far. Any ideas of who I might contact. I'd rather swap it out than reblue it cause it has some serious pitting from something that was spilled on it. Thanks!

IIRC, the receiver cover for that rifle requires an FFL to transfer if the serial number is stamped on the cover.
Holy cow, what a major pain to rebuild, too! That's why I parted mine out some years back, but still have the receiver cover.

What ever you do DO NOT take that rifle apart!

They absolutely suck to get back together and function. You can go to nylonrifles.com as your best resource.

yea dont take it apart too far just the cover off and the bolt out for cleaning any further dissassembly becomes a mess

it is a neat design its the only gun ive ever fired without the receiver attached
