Is this a good deal?

Wondering if this is a good deal and would any of you guys buy it? I know the Ruger 10/22 is the gun to have in this category but that is at least another 100 bucks used. For my purposes this would be for plinking only.

Get a 10/22.
You're only looking at 40-60 more for a brand new one. No scope butthe scope on the savage isn't worth a ton anyway.

ruger 10/22 is the gold standard with the most aftermarket parts available including barrels.

Marlin 795 or a Ruger 10/22 will probably serve you better.

Own a savage 64, fun little plinker. scope is not worth a lick. shoots great except for feed ramps on the gun. After breakin, mine shoots great now.

in my neck of the woods, a 10/22 carbine starts at $249 at big 5 - and that's a sale price!

i suggest you consider the 10/22. do some price comparison shopping before buying.

It's just my opinion but if you check some of the local Pawn Shops you might have luck finding a 10/22 there for less than $200.00, I have found some here in L.A. for $169.99 in Pawn Shops, plus, pawn shop owners are more likely to cut you a better deal if you have cash on hand, however, if you don't plan on adding a ton of accesorries to your rifle then the Savage will NOT fail you, it is a quality built American Made Rifle, and will probably out live you and me both.
