Help me choosing a .22LR pistol

    Hello Calguns,
I want to buy a small .22LR pistol, something like the P22, sw mp22, or sr22.
BUT I WANT A ALL METAL FRAME PISTOL, no polymer. any suggestion ?
I already have ruger mark 3 and browning, so please don't suggest me this one.
Any good suggestion, Thank you all !!!
I am new to this forum, and I really like here.

A Derringer in .22LR will be the smallest metal frame, but nothing like what your looking for (P22,SR22 ect.)

Used High Standard Pistol, all steel, beautifuly made, easy take down, very accurate, great trigger.

Several models to choose from, prices from $350-950.

Use only standard velocity ammo, buy only those made in Ct. Recent reports are the new Tx made guns are worth buying, but these are expensive.

The CZ Kadet is an outstanding choice, but I wouldn't call it small.

            What Browning do you have?

I have a Buck Mark & 1911-22. Both great guns, but very different.

If you have not already, I suggest a look at the Browning 1911-22.

My two personal favorites are :

Revolver: S&W Model 17 K-22 Masterpiece. I have Pachmeyer rubber grips on it instead of the original wood. Those are saved. Shop around and think of it as an investment. I've had mine forever and I am not sure if they are on roster, probably not as are most older S&Ws. Totally fun and very accurate for a 22 revolver, target sights, 6" bbl.

Semi: Sig Hammerli Trailside: 4" bbl with adjustable target sights and after market wood laminate grips. So accurate is is just ridiculous but it is made by Hammerli in Switzerland so what do you expect!
These were made into the early 2000s I believe and are very sought after. They are on the CA roster as "exempt" or Olympic exempt pistols. Not all FFLs know this or bother to look but they are CA-legal on-roster handguns.

Browning 1911-22 is pretty much the only new respectable all metal frame.

The Phoenix HP22 is also an option. It has a lot of fans and a lot of people who will say they are junk. (So are the ATI/Sig 1911-22s.)

What are you going to use this for? Why the hate for polymer frames?

                      Colt Woodsman or Huntsman.

S&W 41 (not really that small and it's expensive, but it is metal)

RIA has a new metal 22 / 1911 but it's slide is open to the barrell I believe it thus looks different. Not on the roster and expensive compared to some others.

I've owned two HP22 handguns over the last two years and they have both developed a frame crack. The first one lost a 1/4 inch chunk of metal in the magazine well. I have pictures to prove it. That said, they shoot well. But, the crack will develop around the 2,000 round mark. The second one, I have owned, only shot CCI Standard Velocity ammo.

If you can find one, the S&W 2213/2214 are great. Magazines most cost an arm, but I've had a 2206, and now own a 622 in the 4" size and they are great guns.
