Any reliable .22lr AK's out there?

I have a gun safe full of all types and calibers of firearms, but I am still partial to rimfire's. I have a couple AR 'type" rimfires, but are there any AK "type" rimfires around here in California? It would be cool to have a little brother to my AK's like I do for my AR's.

Your 2 choices are either a WASR 22 or an Armscor AK. The wasr is more realistic looking than the Armscor. I have an Armscor that I bought for my son. It shoots good but I couldn't stand the wood it came with so I modified a Romy G stock set to fit it. Right now I am waiting on an AK 22 parts kit also.

There have been other .22lr AKs imported in years past. There is the GSG and 10-22 Krinker Plinker kit also.

The 'real' AKs 22LRs such as the WASR-22 and clones tend to have reliabilty issues, particularly with the extractor. Replacement parts are hard to find.

The GSG AK22 is actually a pretty decent gun. Mine is 100% reliable, never had a FTE or FTF after thousands of rounds. Just use quality high velocity ammo like CCI Blazer or equivalent and it will run like a champ. It is accurate enough to ring 100 yard gongs all day long.

I've got a GSG AK with quad rail and extra mag for $325 in the for sale section...has 1500+rds downrange and seems to like most cheep .22lr!
