Savage MarkII TR Finished

So I finally broke down a bought a .22LR. Never owned one and never thought I needed one. It is a stock Mark II TR with a few minor stock adjustments. I added a rail on the front, textured it with MarineTex and cerekoted it with OD. Added a EGW 20MOA mount, Burris rings and a SWFA SS 10x. Hopefully I can take it out next weekend.

Give us a range report when you get a chance. I have a BV variant of the same rifle. It really likes SK std+ , Lapua midas +and rws R50. Others report good to excellent results with Wolf match target.

What did you use to make that texture with the Marinetex? Specific tool?

I have been thinking of doing MarineTex and painting my Marlin 795 Tacticool stock

I used Randy's DIY section. The one thing that it doesn't mention is after you create the texture effect by using a tongue depressor it leaves allot of high sharp areas. Once I peeled the tape, I licked my finger (as noted in his section) to knock down the edges but I also wet my finger and softly wiped it across the high spots through out the work piece to knock them down. It gave it a nice heavy texture that feels good. If anyone is interested in doing this, I have allot of MarineTex left over that I probably won't use. A 14oz. Kit cost me $45.00 from West Marine. Also I ran out of cerekote but have a whole can of OD Alumahyde that works great on the other stocks I have done. Just PM me and I can save you some money with my left overs.
