    Finally joined the club

Picked up my first 10/22 today. I've wanted one for years. My 10/22 started life as a wood stock/blue barrel model. My friend bob gave me his black stock to use till I buy another stock. Plan on a bull barrel as well. Any recommended/must have upgrades?

Nice. I'm looking to get a 10/22 as well since I have people ask me to teach them how to shoot. The decked out AR-22 just isn't a good option for that.

From what I have read the extended magazine release makes your life way easier.

congratulations on your 10/22. for many, the Ruger can provide satisfaction as is from the factory. for others, it can be made to fly them to the moon; aftermarket support is long reaching for this rifle.

Congrats on your purchase. The extended mag release and the auto bolt release would be the first 2 upgrades you would want to do. Easy to do and will make it that much easier to enjoy shooting with.

          Forgot to add.

Some extra mags and a tri mag adapter would make for some great accessories too.

Trigger work is a must on the 10/22. Otherwise a great little rifle.

I switched my extractors to VQ's (Volquartsen), otherwise stock.

If you have a dremel, the bolt catch mod only takes a few min and greatly improves the shooting experience.

I've looked into the bolt catch mod. I'm gonna do it soon. I've got some needle files,

In California, you can't sell, manufacture or import hi cap mags, I thought. How did you acquire without violating that?
