mounting a scope?

How much does it cost to have a gunshop mount a scope. Does it range by type of mounts? Just an average price. Thanks.

Depends on what rifle it is, if its already got some type of rail or if it will have to be drilled and tapped.

It will also vary heavily between shops. Best bet is to make some calls...

It also depends on how good a customer you are.

I've had shops give me a lower rate because I buy from them a lot.

High Desert Storm in Palmdale mounted my scope for me for free because I bought the rings from them. Free is good!

Any reason you couldn't do it yourself? Unless its an older firearm without any grooves or taps?
