I do...flawless and its got at least 2K ronds thru it ... at least

it goes to almost every range trip and i use it to get NOOBS used to the battery of arms and shooting a pistol

although there have been reports of cracked frames by using HV ammo ... mine hasnt suffered such fate, i feed it CCI mini mags, blazers, federal bulk and occasional stingers

order extra mags, if u have large hands get the mags with the finger extension, if you want better accuracy get the longer barrel, better yet get the TARGET package

mine is the standard blued model, i painted the front sight hiviz orange, and since it has an adjustable rear sight i also "zero/d" it at about 7yds...i keep it clean and lubed, and after all that i MIGHT need a new recoil spring, but still to this day, NO FTF-FTE to report

looking back i should have bought the target model...didnt think i would enjoy shooting it so much, and all the noobs/women seem to like it as well

here it is next to my cousins Berreta

    LoL

Those are some pretty big holes fgor a lil .22lr I have one an it runs pretty good...I forget but there might be some ammo it don't like...mabye those pesky golden bullets. Anyways they are fun to shoot and not bad in the accuracy dept. Amazing muzzle flash when using Mini-mags at dusk. My GF likes it also...one of her favs besides the 10/22.

I've got 1000+rds outta mine, but I try an shoot standard velocity ammo for the most part...only jams when its dirty!

I had one, it cracked where the metal thins at the top of the mag well, but I shot a lot of mini mags and stingers, never once shot a "standard" velocity .22lr thru it, where do you even buy standard velocity 22lr's the "standard" is high velocity these days. It's a fun, cheap little gun, traded mine for a NAA mini in 22lr. the NAA is much better quality, but not as much fun. I also did all the research on the HP and modified it to get rid of the california safety crap, it's easy to do and worth it IMO. It's a cheap little gun and I probably wouldn't buy another one, but thats because I'm dreaming of the new Ruger SR22. That one seems like a quality / keeper of a mini auto .22lr, but is $200 more than the HP. But try the HP, it's fun and cheap, so why not, and I should mention that when it cracked, I talked to the main guy at their San Berandu office and he had me send it in and sent me (actually sent to a gun dealer) a new pistol (had to wait the 10 days again) and a couple extra mags, so they do have decent customer service, but I would caution against hyper velocity.

Standard velocity is everywhere if you aren't a cheap-o, but if you bought a phoenix it probably goes without saying

CCI standard velocity, Remington Target are two that come to my head without even thinking too hard about it. Both sell for around $8/100

The gun is rated for Standard velocity, and every horror story I have read about an HP22 with a cracked frame was somebody running bulk ammo through it.

Overall it is not a bad gun, fun cheap plinker, take-down and reassembly are a pain. I am a little thankful after every range trip that my GF sold hers, I absolutely hated having to take that gun apart to clean it. But I wouldn't hesitate to pick one up again if I found it for a reasonable price.

ive ONLY ran minimags and bulk thru mine, i literally have over 2500 rds thru it, no cracks, no failures ... takedown isnt exactly difficult either, to me its actually quite easy, just be aware of the recoil spring and you are gtg

i also did away with the CA safety crap, the wife pretty much adopted the HP as her own so if it goes on sale at Turners i wont hesitate to pick another one up...this time the target model and i hope it is also a reliable shooter like the one i currently own

btw: lol i also grew up and lived in torrance/pv area for at least 15yrs but yes sometimes i am a bit budget conscious or the WIFEY might kill me LoL

I have over 1500 rounds on mine, all Fed bulk, Win bulk and Mini Mags. Except for a few misfires on the bulk Winchester, no other failures.
And yeah, agree with Kandyredcoi, once you learn the proper technique, its easy to take down and assemble back.

your frame WILL crack eventually. Not worth it. I went through 2 of them before getting rid of it. Phoenix arms has great customer service though, once it cracks they send you a replacement, and they cover the FFL's transfer fee, and give you and the dealer free mags.

Is yours HP22 or HP22A, I know there are some cracking problem on HP22. But A lot of ppl said Phoenix fixed this problem on their HP22A models.
I just ordered one today, the sales person told me that also.

I bought one for a friend and liked it so much I bought one for myself. It was cheap, if it falls into a lake or gets stolen then its no big loss.

I'm sure I've put thousands of rounds through it. Last time I was at angeles I was hitting the steel targets at 35 and 50 yards pretty good, for me at least.

I think I'm going to take a tactical shoooting class with it. I have all these mags, so why not.

I broke the hammer a while back. I think the pin worked its way out and it broke when I racked the slide to clear the jam or something like that. I got it repaired and back in 5 or 6 weeks maybe. No hassles whatsoever. I've heard it's not an unusual problem.

I've heard about the frame crack as a design flaw, and I don't doubt it.

Honestly it costs $99 wholesale and has a lifetime warranty that's quite liberal. Let me say it: it's a saturday night special.

Few guns in its price class will stand up to as much use as it will.

I only shoot bulk ammo, I like the federal in teh blue box, I have no idea what velocity it is. I also painted the front sight post white, but hi vis orange is a good idea.
