CCI Minimags is what i use, but the the STINGERS are probably our best bet

I'm sure you couldn't go too wrong with CCI MINIMAGS or stingers.
Honestly I have bulk federal I'd use for SD. The odds of me ever firing in anger are very small and if that ever happens I know they shoot well in my .22 pistols.Comment

I'd go with the hottest 40gr solid point I could find. With a 22lr you're looking for maximum penetration from a penetration challenged caliber and that means the heaviest solid point possible. For self defense, it appears that the Velocitors would perform better than the Stingers. Better penetration and bullet weight retention.
I've said it before and I'll say it again...... I can rule any "Super Dome" arena against "thugs," when I'm armed with a 10/22 and a handfull of hicap magazines during the next "Katrina."
