    Mystery Remington Standard Velocity...

A range sup handed me this brick of .22LR SV LRN to pass out at the range the other day. Nobody wanted any so he told me to keep the whole thing. Anyone have experience with this stuff? Haven't shot any yet.

I assume it must be pretty old if it is.

Yup, numbers match. But how does it shoot? Consistent? Lots of duds? Squibs?

No need to say sorry. I was just hoping someone read the thread and had experience with these rounds.

It's the same stuff as Remington commercial standard velocity in the green and blue box. While not match grade ammo, definitlely a cut above the bulk packed stuff. I use it for turkeys and rams in smallbore silhouette.

It's not match grade ammo, but it doesnt come with a match grade price either, and it will hold "minute of chicken" all day long.

Yeah, its the CMP ammo. I got some and it performs OK, maybe a bit better than bulk ammo as far as accuracy goes. I have gone thru about 1000 rounds of it and no failures at all. It was a good deal for plinking ammo. Used in two different rifles and pistols.

I grabbed 20K and it's worked well so far.

No duds in the first thousand or so out of my MKIIs, 10-22s or K22.

I would buy more for my pistolas if it became available but I doubt it will be. Remembering back to some earlier posts I thnk CMP sold over a million rounds of it last time.

                          Yep - that's CMP Remington Mil-surplus ammo.
Buddy and I shoot it all day long at the range for paper plinking and action steel plates. It's not target ammo, but zero issues with this for what we use this for.

Nothing wrong shooting Remington standard velocity ammo. It's basically the same bullet as the high velocity version but just down loaded to standard velocity. If you got a good lot of that stuff enjoy it for yourself. Heck ammo even in 22 LR can cost.
