    HP22A LAST ROUND BOLT HOLD OPEN PROJECT

    After looking at some of those kits to allow the HP22A to hold open the slide/bolt online, I decided to try and make my own.

    I cut a GI sheet the size of the fallower;

    Then rounded off the corners on one side to fit the upper portion of the mag. I then drilled a small hole, the size of a tack nail on both GI and follower;

    Applied a drop of rubber cement on the follower to hold the GI sheet, when dried, I inseted a tack nail, head against the follower, cut it at closed to the GI plate and hammered it gently to flatten, and filed the area to remove any burrs;

    And here she is with the mag holding the bolt/slide open. The mag however, will only hold 9 rounds, I'm not sure, but it could be due to the protruding metal above the rear end of the follower.
    Oh, and I still need to slide the safety up to hold the bold/slide and change mags. This project is only to keep me from dry firing once the mag is empty. I know, I know, but I sometimes dont keep track of the rounds fired.

    Haven't tried shooting the pistol with the modded mag yet, I just racked the slide several times with, and without live rounds and the plate is holding up.
    Still need to see how she works out at the range.
