    1906 Winchester barrel needed

Anybody know a resource for replacement 1906 Winchester barrels? Round not octagon. Friend of mine is looking for one for his 1914 vintage 1906 and doesn't want to reline the barrel if he can find a replacement.

I've seen front ends for sale from time to time just keep looking. Or, check Numrich.

I checked Numrich they have new octagon bbls, but not the round ones. Checked Sarco, zero, and I sent my friend Jack First's contact info and told him to call them. He may have to settle for a reline, but he was told they aren't necessarily accurate after being relined.

A good gunsmith could always turn a blank down. But, that would be cost prohibitive. Suggest he backbores it and rechambers it to .22 shotshell. Then he'd have a really cool .22 pump shotgun. Remington made a bunch of different .22 shot only guns back in the 50s.

I'll pass the .22 pump shotgun info along, don't think he thought about that!

Before he laughs at the idea, have him look up Routledge. I've taken my Rem 121 onto a skeet field and broken clays with it.

I Googled Routledge and all I see is book sales. What am I supposed to be looking for? The 1906 owner isn't on this Forum. Thanks, BB
