Is the safety moving freely? Did you maybe rotate it when installing the new parts?
Did you try re-installing the original parts to test function?
Does the PowerCustom trigger have an overtravel screw that is maybe not set right?Last edited by TenSeven; 07-10-2012, 12:30 AM. -
All smiles now... It was the power custom trigger.. Put in the stock trigger works like a charm! Any one had this problem before? Thanks 10/7Comment

As TenSeven said, most likely the over travel screw in the new trigger was not adjusted properly, keeping the trigger from going back far enough to release the hammer (assuming you got the trigger with adjuster screw).
Even a 1/4 turn of the screw is enough to make a difference.
It is also possible that the trigger was made slightly oversize at the rear, and even if there is no adjuster screw, the rear "pad" at the back of the trigger may need to be filed down to allow enough rearward trigger travel.
If you changed the sear then sometimes it has to be trimmed on the sides of the end to clear the safety.
Could be another interference problem some where.
If you are in my area and want some help, PM.

With the pc trigger when i push the hammer back it clicks once and it locks.pull the trigger it works? But when i put it all back together slide the bolt back it doesnt release the hammer when i pull the trigger? With the trigger ***. Out i push the hammer back just a lil tiny bit past that first click/lock and it clicks again? The seer and disconect are doing something they shouldnt be doing . I put the same parts in the stock trigger no extra click. problem fixed..why is that?also The set screw was almost all the way out on the pc trigger.hope all that made senceComment

Umm since this is a first timer can we haze the Calgunner with CLP and 22lr cleaning patches? ;-)Pennys Dad

First click is the disconnector resetting, second click is the sear going into the hammer notch....but you may not hear or feel this depending on the hammer.
If the trigger cannot move far enough, you won't get to the second click.
Also as mentiond above, disconnector spring in wrong?
Double check the distance between the sear and disconnector pin holes between old and new triggers....should be the same.
If not, you need a new trigger.
Are you using a shorty slave pin to hold the sear in place when assembling?

Glad too read that your new 10/22 is back in action!
Ojisan makes some great points. Even the best aftermarket parts can fall victim to minor clearance issues from gun to gun.
Hopefully it is nothing more that having to adjust the overtravel setscew a bit or a do a little light filing to allow the trigger to come back far enough to do its thing.
To me, this is one of the most fun parts of being a shooter. Getting a gun, installing upgrades, having issues with the upgrades, learning what went wrong and why, and knowing how to fix the problem.
Now you are the expert for the next person that has this trouble!

Thanks to all for the help! Ojisan.. There is a total of three clicks with the pc trigger. The last one comes a hair after the 2nd one in your explanation.i put the stock trigger together the same axact way.i did use the slave pin they provided. I did notice a notch in the back of the stock trigger vs. the pc one. The seer and disconector looked to be seated diff. Butt what do i know lol.it has to be a bad part ill compare the two next time its appart. I originally wanted The VQ trigger but midway was out of stock. Booooo..ill just use the stock one for now.hopefully i dont have this prob with the VQ trigger. Is it possiball pc triggers only work with pc parts?10/7 im the same way fixing the problem and knowing how to make sure it never happens again is verry rewarding..Comment

Just put in the VQ trigger
works great. The holes on the pc trigger did not line up with stock or VQ triggers. Good scare! At least i have what i originally wanted now.. Thanks to all for the help!
