The scope as Pararallax at 50 yrds to infinity. From what I read most Rimfire Scopes are parallax at 10-20yrds to infinity. Primary use is for plinking at 50 yrds to 150 yrds. Any thoughts? I can get a good deal on this scope for the same price as a Weaver RV9. But have no experience. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I dont have any experience with it, but if the price is right and the scope meets your needs, do it. I use this one Bushnell Banner 6-18x50 currently, it is ok, everything seems decent. I gave it a good breakin this weekend, maybe 500 rounds and it worked well. I think for the purpose you will do fine. Vortex is a great scope.Pennys Dad

Fixed focus rimfire scopes are usually set to be in focus from 25yds to infinity and parallax free at 50yds - 60yds for Leupold. Adjustable objective (AO) and side focus (SF) scopes are parallax free at the in-focus distance, but I assume you mean minimum focus distances for the adjustable objective scopes/side focus scopes. FWIW at 22lr ranges parallax primarily becomes an issue for fine target shooting where being off 1/4" can ruin your scores.
That's a heck of a price for a Vortex Viper but I think for a rimfire I'd want something that focuses closer. A Weaver V16 4-16x42 AO would probably be a better choice and Natchez has a few models on sale starting at $250. I don't have a V16 laying around but my V24s focus down below 16yds, probably closer to 10. FWIW the V24 is my preferred scope for precision 50yd benchrest.Primary use is for plinking at 50 yrds to 150 yrds. Any thoughts? Thanks Guys, the Vortex is Used in great condition, and since Vortex still honors there awesome warranty " no questions ask " even through transfer of ownership is a nice deal, but maybe not not the best option for my purpose. I will go with Glass made in Japan over the phillipines for now. Best Regards, David.Comment

Weaver Classic V scopes are made in Japans top fab. But I wouldn't knock the Philippines because that's where Nikon's scopes are made. Thanks Guys, the Vortex is Used in great condition, and since Vortex still honors there awesome warranty " no questions ask " even through transfer of ownership is a nice deal, but maybe not not the best option for my purpose.
