Kidd bolt hold open. Any thoughts?

So tomorrow being the day that I go and pick up my Ruger 10/22, Ive been looking into a few different upgrades. This rifle is intended to be a cheap rifle to practice marksmanship and just get trigger time; something that until this year I have never had.

One of the things I noticed when initially handling the demo rifle, and from opinions that Ive heard from the interwebs is the stock bolt release kinda sucks.

I was going to go get a Volquartsen auto bolt release from midway USA, but I found what looks to be an auto bolt release and bolt hold open part from Kidd: Kidd Auto bolt release/Bolt hold open.

Does anyone here run one of these parts in their Ruger? If so do you like it?

There are whole slew of those releases available from various vendor. They all work. I have them on all my 10/22s. I hate the way the stock bolt release work.

        It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.

The Kidd geometry is a bit different from the other brands (note the holes), and I think it is easier to engage (I also have a Volquartsen on another rifle, and it works OK, but I prefer the Kidd).

I noticed that the Kidd was a bit different. So it work the same as an auto bolt release but is MORE stable KEEPING the bolt open?

Both easier to engage (catch) the bolt and better at keeping it open.

Thanks for your help John! Just ordered the Kidd. got the hang of the stock bolt catch tonight at the range; not horrible but definitely looking forward to this new part.
