"Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it" -
after a long awaited night i finally have it, its a great little gun, it feels really comfortable and solid, its a decently sized 22 as well, im a pretty big guy and this gun fits my hand just right, ill write up a full review later on today, and may possibly take it out tommorow, only thing is that the place i got it from didnt have any mags in stock so ive only got one, ill compare it to the 2 other 22's that i have which are the GSG 1911 and the Sig Mosquito"Be not that far from me, for trouble is near; haste Thee to help me. Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight. My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me. O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me."Comment

Don't forget to take the tools with you to the range.. My front sight needed a little adjusting. Once you loosen the set screw it moves freely.after a long awaited night i finally have it, its a great little gun, it feels really comfortable and solid, its a decently sized 22 as well, im a pretty big guy and this gun fits my hand just right, ill write up a full review later on today, and may possibly take it out tommorow, only thing is that the place i got it from didnt have any mags in stock so ive only got one, ill compare it to the 2 other 22's that i have which are the GSG 1911 and the Sig Mosquito"Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it"Comment

How do the M&P22 magazines compare in size to their full-sized brothers? e.g. will they fit properly in the same magazine carriers?
If it wasn't mandated to have the thumb safety on the M&P22 vs. a full-caliber M&P, this would make a nice training piece. Minor difference, I know, but enough that you'd likely need holsters specific to accommodate the thumb safety (pretty sure my full-sized Raven is not interchangeable with the thumb-safety equipped pistols).
Will a no-thumb safety version come to the US? Who knows... if one did show up, I'd be first in line!
I'm sure this is a fun pistol regardless. Glad to hear it's not too picky with ammo. Happy shooting!Last edited by scootle; 07-09-2012, 3:34 AM.SCC CCW *326 Days, $1051.29*

It is suppose to be marked CA on the slide.
If it doesn't check to see if you have a threaded barrel.
Because you may have gotten a non-approved version and the non-approved versions are considered assault weapons under CA laws [PC 30515(a)(4)(A)].
This happens every now and then when a handgun gets placed on the Roster and in the rush to sell them, some CA FFL dealers will sell the non-approved version thinking it applies.
Examples... Glock 21SF with ambi-mag release & Kahr Arms P-380.
So, if you get a non-approved version.
Immediately remove the threaded barrel and make it CA compliant.sigpic

The M&P22 magazine is thinner than the centerfire M&P pistol magazine. How do the M&P22 magazines compare in size to their full-sized brothers? e.g. will they fit properly in the same magazine carriers?

The manual thumb safety is required because it is a single-action only pistol that uses an internal hammer hidden under the slide.sigpic

Well the dealer i got it from said that it was on the list and was on the CA approved handgun list, with the serial number thats on the gun, afterall the DOJ says what handguns are legal, if it comes to that it would be considered an AW I will just use some JB Weld and red loctite,( or blue which ever one is permanent) would this be sufficient? I can always tack weld if necessary"Be not that far from me, for trouble is near; haste Thee to help me. Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight. Yep me too!! Just put a Viridian Green C5 laser on it! Gonna zero that in at the range this weekend.. Love how the 22 has an expensive laser on the rail and my custom Sig 1911 has a cheapo sightmark red laser on it.lol. I really like the M&P22!"Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it"Comment

^hahahaha yeah well the better product usually goes on the gun that is used most, when i take it out ill do a full report on ammo, how it functions, any FTF/FTE's, wear, appeal to others, recoil, use, accuracy, and reliability and anything else that i come across, im really looking forward to shooting this and comparing to the GSG1911 & the SIG MOSQUITO, i dont have the walther but i have shot one and it felt great and i ran about 100 rounds with 0 problems of any kind, anywho im rambling on but ill post up my finding and results"Be not that far from me, for trouble is near; haste Thee to help me. Quick break down
PROS:
1. Works. Only 1 fail to feed out of 500 and I think that was actually the ammo/magazine's fault.
2. Pretty accurate. I was hitting at 50 feet pretty easily. Spread was maybe 4-6".
3. Full size, I hate how the other ones like SR22 and P22 are so tiny.
4. Repeating number 1. Reliable.
CONS:
1. Slide is still light and feels like a toy every time I rack it.
2. I actually got bored of shooting today.... Never happened before... I think it had to do with less recoil and the fact that I shot 500 rounds in an hour?Last edited by mc21; 07-11-2012, 8:03 AM.Comment
