Help me decide.....mods for the Sig522

Ok guys so I've really been debating on what I want to do here. I've allocated some money to spend on my Sig522 and really torn on which route to take. Sometimes its easier to hear from others to come to a decision so here it goes...

    Option 1:
    Samson Quad Rail Handguard
    Magpul foliage MBUS sights
    Foliage rail covers

    Option 2:
New Trijicon Tripower TX30 with Arms mount

Yes I know these are two completely different ways to go. Keep in mind my Sig522 is the classic version so it has the swiss style handguard. Really, my main objective is to have better sights than what I have now. Currently I'm using the sights that came with the gun and they are complete garbage. The reason why I added the Trijicon TX30 is because I found a good deal and feel that this could be an optic I could use between my other rifles if I wanted. Ideally I'd just buy both but I've got another house project to fund.

    Thoughts?

Have you looked at the sig cp-1. I had that on my sig 522 loved it. Fixed 3 power nice clear reticle clear glass.
Son, one day you will make a girl very happy, for a short period of time. Then she will leave you and be with men who are ten times better than you could ever hope to be. These men are called Marines.

I have a Sign 522 Swiss and I just added popup irons (Samson), a Vortex SPARC Red Dot, and a 3x Magnifier. It's a 22 so I kept costs down. So far so good. Good little rifle.

I think I'd decided to add some color to the rifle so getting the samson rail and adding Magpul MBUS and rail covers in either Foliage or Darth Earth. I like the challenge of iron sights, kind of makes it more fun especially when competing against a buddy.

I'd like to see a pic plus details on your selections. I would love to mod my 522 to Flat Dark earth. My red dot and magnifier are lever-removeable so I have just the pop up irons. I think that is fun also.

Will definitely post pics when everything comes in. Samson rail is on back order until later this week and I should have the MBUS this coming week.

Stay away from the Samson Rail. It doesn't have the little stock side lock thingee for side folder, and its nice to have your stock lock in place when you fold it. Should have gotten the Swat version if you wanted the rails. For the price of that Trijicon Tripower, you could go with some magnification (unless you get a deal on a used one). You may even find a good deal on a good used Acog. Except they sit a little high and you don't get a very good cheek weld with them. You should call SIG and see about getting a swiss time folding stock. Huge improvement.
I've had the Zeiss Z point on mine and it sits nice and low and gives a REALLY nice cheek weld and gives it a nice minimalist look...

Or go with glass and see just how much of a tack driver that thing can be.

Oh, and get a nice bipod for it.
I love the 522's. By far, the best 22 rifle in the universe.

What are some good bipods for the 522? I would like to get one that's relatively inexpensive and not into the grip/bipods.

                  Thanks for the comments guys.

In regards to the folding stock I'm glad you mentioned the Samson not having the locking point however I never have folded the stock nor do I see any plans on doing so. In this case I'm not to concerned with not being able to fold.

Since this is used for tactical exercises I'm not looking for any magnification. In fact I decided just this weekend that I'm going to stick with Magpul MBUS sights and later add an EOTech to finish off the rifle.

As for the SWAT version, originally I thought I'd be ok without the rail since I thought I wouldn't shoot the Sig as much as the AR15 but I was wrong. I love this gun so much now that I've decided it time to customize it to how I'd like it.
