    Ruger 22/45 ammo?

Just paid for a new 22/45. 10 days from now I will begin to break it in at Burro Canyon. Will this little baby eat about any ammo I try to feed it? I have a fairly large supply of Federal 36 grn copper hp and some Blazer Bulk, in additon to some Remington Stingers and CCI mini-mags. A Remington Golden Bullet will not touch this gun's magazine!

What has been YOUR experience with the 22/45 and ammo?

My 22/45 functions really well with Mini-Mags. Now that it's broken in it seems to cycle anything that I have bought in bulk. All the Walmart ammo has worked fine, which includes all 36 gr HPs.

22/45's are like my 10 year old son... they eat anything.

I shoot Federal bulk, CCI, Winchester... even Remington.

Get yourself an ultimate clip loader. 500 rounds will never go so quickly.

I've had no problems with Federal bulk and I agree on the Ultimate Clip Loader.

I have well over 25k rounds of Federal bulk pack through my .22/45, and it runs great on it. For shooting steel, it's pretty much all I use. It's eaten Remington, Winchester, CCI and who knows what other bulk ammo, just not as often. Accuracy does improve with mini mags, stingers, Federal Lightning and the other "high end" .22 I've tried, so that's the route I go to punch paper with.

The mag springs are just about shot on all 5 of my mags, sent one to my spring guy to recreate, and have him make me 50 spares. I just wish I knew an actual round count, I'm sure it's over 35k by now. One of the best guns you could possibly own.

Same here, mostly Blazer and Federal bulk.
About 7k rounds of blazer and 1k rounds of federal.

The ultimate clip loader is a must for this gun.

Mine has eaten everything from day 1 as well. First time we took it out, we shot Federal bulk (red and blue boxes), Federal Automatch, Minimags (solid and hp), and Remington Target. Since then, I've also fed it Federal Lightning, Remington Golden Bullet, Remington Thunderbolt, and some subsonic (forgot the brand). Although my round count is fairly low (~800) I'm happy to report this thing has run 100%- ZERO malfunctions of any kind. And as mentioned previously, definitely get the UCL

Mine won't eat "EVERYTHING" as reliably as others. Best experience with copper plated Federal bulk, Blazer Bulk, Minimags and Stingers. The bigger the "hollow point" hole is, or the flatter the nose, the less reliable feeding seems to be.
