Review: Thumb Assist Speed Loader for Ruger SR22 Pistol by Brass Stacker

I'm breaking out an SR22 Pistol on my birthday this Weds, and picked up a speed loader from Brass Stacker for $17 shipped that I found perusing the web. I ordered this on Friday 6/15, and somehow it arrived Monday 6/18 from North Carolina by 1st class USPS mail. wow!

It is made of black Delrin (hardened plastic), and it appears very sturdy and well built (no sharp edges). It employs a very simple concept: it slips right over your mag and has a wide base for your thumb to easily push down on the mag spring. The small thumb assists built in to the Ruger mags are ok, but with the sharp edges, I can't imagine loading a brick with those at the range over an afternoon.

For the price, it is a no brainer, and definitely going into the range bag. Go get yours! Less loading, more shooting.

Not bad at all and it looks like fairly good quality. Too bad nothing like the Ulitmate Loader for the Mark series.

It looks good but this isn't really a speed loader as it only makes holding the spring down a bit easier. The magazines on the SR22p have a pretty soft spring and the built in thumb assist is really good. Even after shooting a full brick of ammo my thumb is fine. It would be nice if they come out with something that can load mags in just a few seconds like the UCL for the 22/45.
