    Glenfield Mod. 60

Hello, looking at purchasing Marlin 60. I have 2 choices. Glenfield Mod. 60 with the squirrel and maple leaf stamp in excellent condition or the Marlin 60 dlx, 50the annivesary eddition. The cost difference is about $100. I'm leaning towards the Glenfield. Any opinions with both? Thanks.

Same gun. One's newer and has a fancy medallion in the stock.

    I vote Squirrel.
The thing with firearms is that they are not like any other consumer product, simple ownership of one carries a lot of responsibility.

Some idiots are too busy knowing it all to ever learn anything

Th anniversary edition will only be worth extra money at the time of sale if it is in perfect condition....so you would not want to shoot it much and risk damage.
If you want to go shoot, get the squirrel.

The squirrel stock rifle will hold 18 rounds, but wont have the Last Shot Hold Open [LSHO]. The aniversery will have the LSHO but will only hold 14 rounds. the squirrel will have a longer barrel. That will only be important if you shoot with open sights. The longer sight radius will make it slightly more accurate. That said I like the longer barrels, squirrels on the stocks, and have never warmed up to the LSHO. DR

I have an old Glenfield Model 60 that I picked up for $25. I cleaned it up repaired and refinished the stock, added a scope and it will shoot as well as most 22lr auto's at the range. The older Glenfields and Marlins 60's have the 21" barrel.
My buddy could not believe that I was out shooting his Hot Rod 10/22. lol

Lucky! Mine was $100, and still well worth it. I too find myself outshooting friends with high dollar 10/22s. Awesome gun, everybody should own 5 of them.
