Ruger MkIII 22/45 assembly questions HELP?

I dissembled my Mk III 22/45 and seems I did not put the hammer back correctly.

I have a Mk II bushing modification (Majestic Arms hammer/ bushing) and had it working in the gun for the last 6 month.

I have it set up left to right (from the back)... Safety lever, Hammer and Mk II bushing... the bushing slips into the Trigger Bar and is all held together by a pin.

The problem I am having is there is no resistance on the hammer when it is cocked back and when I press the trigger, the hammer does not snap forward.

Is there a spring I misplaced? Keep in mind, I removed the mag catch.

If I put it together correctly, what causes the tension on the hammer?

Sounds like you didn't get the hammer strut into the main spring. Take the mainspring housing back out. Make sure the hammer is forward. Rotate the gun rearward so that the hammer strut hangs freely. Put the latch/mainspring back in. The hammer strut should rest in the detent in the mainspring. You should feel a little tension as you close the latch.

Sorry I cant help you, I was looking at one of these and asked the guy if they were easy to clean, he said yes and no, easy to clean but hard to put back together! he gets them back all the time because the owners could not figure how to get em back together. Great feeling in the hand. Good luck.

The Hammer Strut was not alligned on top of the main spring I lined it up and works perfectly.

I just went through this. Apparently you too found out you gotta do gymnastics to put these damned things back together.
