Mount suggestions for ruger 10/.22

The factory base works just fine. For rings you can swing by Walmart and pickup Leupold Rifleman rings for about $15-20, buy the shortest rings that will still allow your scope to clear the barrel and rear sight. You want to mount the scope as low as possible to allow yourself the best possible cheek weld. Without knowing more about the scope I can't calculate the minimum ring height but with Walmart you can take your best guess and return them if they're the wrong size."Government is the great fiction, through which everybody endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else." --FREDERIC BASTIAT--

Do you want to target shoot? Then get a mount that will allow you to position the rear of the scope even with the rear of the metal receiver. Generally the factory mount does not do this. I highly recommend the one made by Evolution Gun Works.

That would depend on the eye relief designed into the scope and your own personal style. Either you're using a very-very-very long eye relief scope or you choke way the heck up on the stock. With most scopes the shooter wouldn't want the rear of scope anywhere near the rear of the receiver. It's certainly not the case with any of my target rifles. The 2nd and last photos are 10/22s with the factory base and it works just fine. The placement of the rear of the scope is based on positing the scope wherever it needs to be to give correct eye relief - usually somewhere between 3-4" from the eye depending on the scope.Do you want to target shoot? It's a long discontinued Simmons Prohunter 6-24x44. If you have that one you'll need extended rings like I used to make it fit. It would help a lot if you told us the make and model and magnification of the scope."Government is the great fiction, through which everybody endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else." --FREDERIC BASTIAT--

Depending on the scope you purchase, it will more than likely come with rings that will fit a 10/22.sigpic"Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are."

Based on the specs listed on MidwayUSA that scope comes with its own rings. If so they should work fine with the Ruger base that came with your rifle."Government is the great fiction, through which everybody endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else." --FREDERIC BASTIAT--
