    Ruger MkIV

I was comparing my Rugers MkII, MkIII, and MkIV and wonder how the MkIV got approved without a loaded chamber indicator that was on the MkIII.

It never was a requirement here, but some other states did require them. So, we all got stuck with them on the MK3.
Thank you. I wasn't aware of the difference between centerfire and rimfire.

Have one. An MK678. A little muzzle heavy. My primaries are a MkIII KMK512 and MkIV blue 5 1/2" bull barrel.

Once you learn the Roll-Over trick during reassembly, none of the Ruger MK series are difficult to reassemble anymore.
The Roll-Over is to ensure that the hammer strut engages the mainspring housing correctly.

When he gets the Majestic Arms Speed Strip kit that allows you to simply remove the bolt from the back of the receiver, he'll like it even more!!

Of all our Ruger .22 pistols, that is my favorite. It makes a great training pistol for new shooters, is accurate, and about perfect for garden squirrels.

Exactly, then I saw the light, and life was peaceful again.

                    Thats when I installed this,,,

New, patented, Hammer Strut Support (HSS) makes reassembly of mainspring assembly into Ruger MK quick, easy, ALWAYS CORRECT. HSS installs in minutes with no experiece or special tools needed, and remains in the Ruger MK.

Yea, reassembling the MkII can be tricky, but rarely do they require that deep a cleaning.

Back when I was in California i had a MK III, never could take it apart. Still ran 1000's of rounds through it with only breach cleaning. Recently picked up a MK IV tactical to run a suppressor on. The MK IV one button disassembly is 100% worth it. Such a fun gun to take to the range.

The MKIV is worth it just because of how easy it is to take apart and clean IMO.

Absolutely, and it wasn't a bad time stripping and cleaning my three MK-IIs. But I can now field strip a MK-IV in as easy as a Glock.

I have one MK-IV, a 22/45 Lite, and excellent pistol; like my old MK-IVs, I replaced the stock extractor and triggers with Kidd/Volquartsen parts and removed the mag disconnect. Here is my Lite with a Dead Air Mask, it is great the Lite comes with a threaded barrel. My most popular handgun for others to shoot at our gatherings.

That's a beautiful looking MKVI. Thanks for also sharing your thought and the pic.
