Has anyone had this problem with S&W M&P 22?

I was using CCI blazer 22lr standard velocity and was getting at least one FTE or FTF approximately every 20 rounds. Is this because of the gun or the ammo?

I'm gonna say its the gun. Maybe it just dosnt like that type of ammo. I was at the range Saturday and went through over 100, probably closer to 150 CCI Blazer rounds, not 1 fte or ftf, not a S&W though.

      tastymarinade,

It could be both in my opinion. Try another magazine and see if that helps....then try another brick of ammo of the same brand from another store or at least a different lot number. Generally speaking issues like your is not uncommon. Twenty two are very picky ammo nd you have to taylor the ammo to the pistol. Also in the future if you want to shoot standard velocity ammo try CCI "Green Tag" ammo. It's more expensive but ignition issue should be kept to a minimum. As a medium price in between the two I mentioned just using high velocity should guarantee full cycleing of the bolt.

the M&P22 is a lot less picky than my Spikes .22 (doesn't do too well with blazers)

I was at the range the other day and my friends' Smith was digesting everything we loaded into it's magazines

-give it a good cleaning and try again-

(FWIW I've heard several owners say their SW seemed to prefer plated ammo ... which blazer is not)
