Marlin 60 for $100: worth it?

Okay, jeeze guys, I'll get it!

Only reason I was holding off is because I've already got a 10/22 and M&P15-22, so I was questioning whether or not I needed another .22.

It appears the answer to the question is yes.

I like my Marlins more than my Ruger. More accurate in factory form too.

The Model 60 will be more accurate then either of the mentioned rifles and it carries more then 10 rounds. Pure fun! and a win!

I paid $125 for mine, the gun shop had one used and caught me at a weak moment. Probably could have found one for $100, but to be honest, even if it were $300 it would have been a great buy. By far the most fun rifle I own and I'd gladly take it over any of my high dollar center-fire rifles. Going to buy a couple more because I can't decide what to do for a scope, so I'll just get a red dot, 3-9, peep sights and stock irons and have 4 60s.

Get it! Subtract the first two digits of the serial number from 100 to find the year of manufacture. If you find that the rifle is giving you problems, the guys over at rimfirecentral.com are wizards with the Model 60.

My childhood model 60 rifle serial number is 20591986 and I think my dad bought it at Kmart.
Looks like a 1980 model. Cool

I had one just like that but with the original Glenfield 4 power scope!

I gave it to my niece when she turned 16, I miss the gun but it sure was fun today at the ranch watching her shoot it.
