    Browning SA-22 Question

I just put a new SA-22 in jail and wondered what version it is. It has a grey receiver, gold trigger, octagonal barrel and a matte finish on the stock. I thought it might have been a grade VI but it didn't have the gold inlay in the scrolling on the receiver. Also, the price was about half of the MSRP of a Grade VI.

Nothing is listed on Browning's website. Maybe this was a limited run?

Excited for the 10 day wait to end! Been wanting a SA for years.

I just found it. It's a grade II. Didn't think they made these anymore.

The exact same model you bought is next on my list. Beautiful rifle.

Yeah I really like the satin finish on the stock and the grated out receiver. Plus that octagon barrel really gives it a nice touch. The regular blued version with the glossy stock just didn't do it for me.

          I have one

          It's a really fun shooter.

Although it's a limited run, don't be surprised if you see it pop again on Browning's web site. I think they've done at least one limited run since I purchased mine.

            SamIAm,

Did you scope yours? Trying to decide on a scope.

Nope. I have a scoped Remington 504 bolt action for precision stuff. I use the SA-22 for plinking while camping and 4-wheeling. It's a takedown, and before the latest Ruger 10/22, it was definitely the best option out there. I still think it's much nicer than the Ruger 10/22 and, for me, a better option, but obviously not as much bang for the buck given the quality of the Browning build.

These are classic rifles that stand the test of time and turn heads wherever you go.

They are beautiful rifles. I had a knock off of it, the Norinco, but it functioned flawlessly and was super accurate for me with the iron sights. It inspired me to start looking at the Brownings ($$$). Only thing i had to get used to was the casings bouncing off my arm.
