    Plastic holy grail

For about 40 years I’ve wanted a Remington Nylon 66 but never came across one at what I considered to be a reasonable price but today I snagged one in excellent condition for $300 in the used gun corner my my gun club. It has the brown stock, which is the most common, and SN indicates it was one of the last ones before production halted in 1989 after 30 years and more than one million made. Now I just have to wait until it gets out of California jail. Merry Christmas to myself.

Always good to find one you've been looking for. Lately I've been finding them too close together.

Great to get one you have always wanted, especially at Christmas time.
I have been looking for a "birthday gun" for several years and just to possession of it Saturday.
It is a 1949 S&W K-22 revolver and, according to the S&W Historian, I am 2 weeks older that this pistol.
It is a .22 rimfire, I guess it is ok to mention it here.

Nice! One of the first guns I ever shot when I was a kid. My brother in law had one.

That is a true classic. Hope your heirs like guns and will treasure it. My version is a 1953-vintage S&W pre-Model 43 .22 kit gun, the company’s first venture into lightweight alloy revolvers. Very few were made.

Nice gong good buy these days. I ran across a Mohawk 10C (mag fed) about 8 years ago for a hunnerd bucks at my LGS. Needed a mag and a charge handle. $12 buck from Numrich for the handle and I waited until I came across some Remington mags. The bolt guns use the same ones. Ended up with 4. Also ran up on a period correct Weaver scope for it. PAX

With the replacement charge handle, 4 mags and scope, less than $200 into it. 3 of the mags I found NIP for $25 (as a group buy) at an LGS that was closing the doors, another was hiding on a shelf in a very old shop in Idaho. Gave it to me for the original price tag, $12.50.I think all the mags were listed for Remington bolt guns. Here's a crappy pictures with its cousins Marlin/Glenfield, Ruger and AR7. P.AX

Picked up Nylon 66 today and gave it a 50-round test, It passed with flying colors. Lightweight and accurate. Someday I'll pass it on to a nephew or grandson. Last week I passed on a Remington Model 12 pump .22 from 1926 to a nephew. It's was one of two I inherited about 50 years ago, both in perfect condition. The second one will probably go to a grandson. Several years ago I gave one grandson a 20-guage double barrel shotgun. I hunted doves in the Imperial Valley with it 70 years ago. having acquired it from my father. I prefer to pass heirloom guns while I'm still alive. If I want to shoot one I can just borrow it back.

As young-ins , we would take that nylon 66 out to the riverbed and plink away...
it is now one my favorite .22s
