Ruger MKIV Lobos Optic Mount – Review & Range Report

I recently tested out the Lobos Industries optic mount on my Ruger MKIV Target model and wanted to share my experience.

πŸ”Ή Fit & Install – Super easy to mount since it bolts directly into the factory holes. Looks very clean and almost factory-integrated. The only hiccup is that it ships with screws sized only for RMSc optics, so if you’re using another optic, you’ll likely need to source screws separately.

πŸ”Ή Range Report – Rock solid at the range. No loosening, no issues after multiple sessions. The build quality feels excellent and machining is tight. Accuracy was excellent, at 25 yards I was stacking rounds into quarter-sized groups with minimal effort.

πŸ”Ή Pros: Clean, low-profile design Easy installation Excellent machining & fit Great value (around $45)

πŸ”Ή Cons: Factory-height sights won’t co-witness Screw set only fits RMSc optics (need extras if using something else)

πŸ”Ή Verdict – For the money, this is one of the best Ruger MKIV upgrades I’ve done. It makes an already fun pistol even more enjoyable, especially with a red dot.

Here’s the full video review + range footage if you’d like to see it in action:

Curious if anyone else here has tried the Lobos mount or other Ruger MKIV optic solutions?

Yes, used one to mount a Holosun 407K on a MKIV Target. Been using it more than a year now and it has been flawless.

Like you say, it has a clean, low profile design, mounts easily, and is solid (although there's not much stress on a bolt operated 22LR). Co-witnessing with irons is a non-issue for me.

Thanks for reporting on this. Sure it will be useful to others.
