Went to local gunshop and held a Sig 322. Gotta say it feels real nice in my hand.

Watched reviews on YouTube. Some ppl hate them. Non stop malfunctions. Others love them. 100% flawless.

Anyone have experience with the newer/current model?

Buckmark is one of the few guns I ever sold. I didnt like it because everytime you take it down to clean it, the rear sight is removed. When you put it back together, you have to adjust the sights again...

        Still have my mkIII 22/45

Never did buy a sw 41... still want one.

According to Browning, you aren't supposed to take-down a Buckmark. There's not even a such thing as field stripping it. That's what my instruction manual says on several that I own.

41's are excellent, but expensive and picky with ammo.

For a more conventional looking pistol I would recommend the ruger sr22, mine has shot everything I put through it except lead free ammo which is problematic in any semi auto I’ve tried. Just not enough bullet mass I figure. For a gun for training/plinking ammo pickiness is something I really dislike.

Other 22 semis l have liked but that are less conventional are ruger mark series (I have a mark ii, very accurate and easy to shoot and eats everything), beretta 21a (even with sights that should be bad it was really easy to shoot well I just don’t need a carry 22, slightly ammo picky), and a full size 1911 with a 22 conversion kit (slightly ammo picky)

22 semis I have disliked include the browning 1911-22 (awful, awful sights), and a Glock with conversion kit (very ammo picky).

Semis I considered but did not pursue were the sig (finding people with pleasant things to say about it is rare), buckmark (I dislike the way they takedown, and a trainer is gonna get lots of rounds through it), and the gsg 1911 22 (never seen one in a shop).

            Just my experience.

Love my buckmark, but oil the hell out of all the steel surfaces when you get it. The thing is a rust magnet unlike every other gun I've owned.

I’d recommend a good used Ruger MKII target. Preferably a 5” bull. . Best all around 22 semi of all time. I also respect older High Standards, but mags and parts are hard to find and $$. Buck marks are Ok too, but the Rugers will eat anything. The complaint of being tough to reassemble is real, but you only need that level of cleaning about every 2000 rounds and you save that for winter. Disclaimer.. I sold my MK IIs and bought S & W m14s. Awesome guns, but not field Plunkers . I will replace my MkIi some day. Just my 2cents.

Another on Roster is the Smith & Wesson 22A-1 or Victory
                  Does have a mag/disc
Make sure the SKU # is correct before ordering.
                  Multiple models SKUs made.
No longer manufactured, GB has them all the time for around +$300 seen some new old stock.
GB has them all the time $300-$400
Bass Pro has them for $439 https://www.basspro.com/p/smith-wess...rimfire-pistol
                  70 revues give it 4.1/5.0
Only problem is what will your FFL charge you to accept it from GB.

Have not found any ammo that has been problematic with mine.
Heavy barrel has Weaver rail but pot metal frame or aluminum alloy frame.
Very easy to clean, large button in front of trigger guard releases the barrel/slide from frame.
Grips are a little fat and trigger is just ok.
                  S&W I have are Off Roster 22A-1, 2206, 422

GSG 1911, it's identical to actual 1911, with some interchangeable parts.
It's cheaper than most other 22 semi. Excellent for training to shoot and breakdown for cleaning.

Absolutely love my Ruger MK4 Target. I want a 22/45 and a SR22 next though.

Agree with this but in a free state I would go with the TX22c, red dot ready and works just as well as the full size maybe even better in a smaller package. But still plenty of grip size.

When I got mine I did a 2000 round challenge with it right away, no cleaning or oiling. Used nothing but cheap bulk box ammo, four different types, out of over 2100 rounds fired had a total of five stoppages and all where ammo related. Four rounds that would not fire at all and one that had a light charge, could hear it and feel it. Got over 8,000 rounds through it and it just runs and runs.

                        TX22 and TX22c

Wife and I both have the new P322 and absolutely love them. We only shoot the CCI MINI MAG bullets ,haven’t tried any other brands.
VERY ACCURATE AND EASY TO SHOOT.
